yanyan777,

I just paid 7k for a second hand 16610LV with stickers still in place from Fourtane in Carmel. I was looking for one for quite a long time but I wanted a LNIB for a used price. They seem to be going for $6200-$7500 depending on box, papers or lack of. The main difference in price seems to be in the year of issue, 2003 (mark 1 dial? Y serial) seem to be a premium. 2007 or later (M,V or random) seem to be right behind. 2004-06 (F,D,Z) seem to be the most reasonable. I think consumers either love the ROLEXROLEXROLEX engraving or they want the first issue. They did make less of these compared to the black sub, but IMHO it is not a true limited edition. It's only limited now because they stopped making them, just like the SD. It's a gamble to pick one up to think they will go up in price as much as they have in the last year, but if you want to pick one up to wear, and don't care about the year, besel color,or inner besel, papers, or condition, you can pick up a cheap one from a trusted seller here and eventually send it in to Rolex and they will make it new when the time comes. Hope this helped.

i love the lv sub(the pre ceramic ones) and im really tempted to buy one as of late, however i need to use a chunck of the money to get my vintage tissot bumper fully overhauled first. once she returns from overhaul, then i can start thinking about an lv.

I love my LV! I went to an AD to check out the LV-c but it looks too big on my small wrist.

You just have to like the green.

I might get a little tired of the color.

Otherwise, it's a nice watch.

In my opinion it's the best looking Submariner with the red being a close second. The new green dial LV is hideous.

It took me a while to get used to the green bezel. Still can't use it as a daily wearer. I use my Sea-Dweller for that. Still a very nice watch

50th > Hulk

At least to me...

I like the contrast between bezel and dial.

I agree whole heartedly with these two comments. First of all the new 'hulk' doesn't have the same shade of green in the bezel, and the green dial just looks weird. Second, the new Subs being a bit thicker than the 16610 just isn't tickling my fancy.

But, when it boils down to it, it's all about personal preference.

It's the nicer than the regular 16610, thanks to the maxi dial and broader hands. However I'm not really into green as a colour to wear. Btw, this watch was never an 'edition' as it was regular production. Overall I prefer the current 116610LV although too green for my personal taste

The true 50th first year addition 16610LV is the ultimate sub. This is the top of my wish list, and the true grail.
