Not for me, I don't like it. Too much going on for me. Less is more in my opinion.

ADs in Canada where I am have some although Rolex has given each AD a different model so you would have to drive from one store across town to the other to take a look at all 3. Cant decide wether I like WG or RG more.

I'd like it more I think if they did a stick dial and ditched the Romans

I had all three on my wrist 2 weeks ago and found the YG to be the one for me. What I did not like was the bezel.

Good to know. Not too many have seen all three at once.

Saw one today pretty freak in cool. Feels so nice on the wrist. I like it better than my rose Daytona... it was pricey at around 38k...

It has arrived in Hong Kong.

I tried it on, although a wonderful design, way too thick.
The DSSD can pull it off, the Skydweller can't IMO.
Not for a DJ classy styled watch.

On the other hand, it is distinctive and doesn't look terrible.

All in all, I think this is a good looking watch styled with a reasonable amount of restraint. It's a far cry from the YMII (which I'm no fan of). I doubt I'd ever purchase one, but it gives me hope for a normal looking single timezone annual calendar from Rolex.
Agree with many of your points and overall very cool technology. Might be my new grail.

They have been in the ADs here for a little while. Interesting and nice looking piece, but I'm not in the market for one

Tried one on today at the Rolly shop. Love the big heavy gold heft. Apparently they charge by the mm. 42 for $42K

I've got one of these on order for a client. I'll have to try it on when it comes in.

I purchased a Sky-Dweller recently in white gold. I do not know where the critics are coming from. I think the face is absolutely beautiful and unique. Suggesting a hand for the reference time, i.e. the GMT, is crazy. I am not a fan of yellow gold and I am not crazy about the rose gold with leather strap SD. However, the white gold SD is drop dead beautiful. In my opinion this is the best looking Rolex today. It is very elegant and at the same time it is a great casual time piece, thanks to the reference dial. The mechanics of this watch are amazing. The functionality is complex yet simple and works flawlessly. I know the price tag is not cheap, but look at cars, boats, music instruments, etc. at or above the price of the Rolex SD. I will bet the Rolex will be the only item to sell for more than the original purchase price 20 years from now. While I did not purchase this beautiful watch as an investment, it is nice to know that you can enjoy this beautiful time piece for many years and at the end get paid to wear it. Do not listen to the critics tht want another same as but Rolex. My hat is off to Rolex designers who brought us the new SD. If you can handle the price tag, you will be delighted with this watch. Be an owner of the first generation SD.

I agree with Bluesman0812.

I also recently bought a white gold SD. I am very impressed with it.

Even though it is a big, heavy watch, it is easy and comfortable to wear. The bracelet adjusts as needed.

The best part of course is the complicated and yet simple to operate dual time zone and annual calendar. Being able to instantly move the hour and date back or forward is sometimes a rather difficult procedure even in a digital watch (I often have to read the instruction manual to remember how to do it). But in a mechanical watch, it is really amazing that Rolex has been able to accomplish such a simple procedure for such a complex task.

Although it is expensive, I think the price is justified because it is really several watches in one: dress watch, business watch, travel watch, sports watch, complicated movement watch, etc. etc.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering getting one.
