DJ2 smooth bezel- blue or black
Have waited a long time to purchase my first Rolex- have decided on the the new DJ2 with smooth bezel. Trying to decide between Black and Blue dial. I've tried both and they both look great. This being my only nice watch, my thought are black is more versatile and more timeless. I'm concerned down the road I may grow tired of having a blue watch. Thoughts?

Me also have the same problem...either silver or black dail.
Silver for classic. Black for sporty. So in the end bought black. Wearing it everyday. |

my tale.... I had a DJII ( 41mm blue faced with a white gold fluted bezel ).... but there was something I just couldn't quite work out that wasn't right for me....
Then I saw a DJ (36mm) black face and fell in love ( no WG fluted bezel and numerals instead of stick markers ).... that was it - the fluting and the thick stick on the DJII IMHO just didn't look right .... so the moral of the story is - make damn sure you like the size of the watch ( 41 or 36mm ) and choose whatever colour you like ( cos you can always change dials and whether it is a Roman, Stick, arab face etc later ). Most of all.......enjoy the hunt......!!!! try on loads and my vote goes for BLACK

Blue w/roman if it were my choice as I wear alot of blue.
Otherwise, I would say if you want black, the black w/roman is a very nice piece. I believe it has a matte dial which is super sexy |

Ahorsey, funny, how we all have different tastes/perspective. I went with the DJII blue dial fluted bezel and love it. 100% agreement. No matter which you choose, make sure it's the one you want (size, color)

If it's your only watch....Black
I own the Blue stick and love it....but I have been though multiple Watches and have 4 currently....3 with a black dials (SD, GMT II and Speedmaster) But if you really love the blue, in a year or so you could always do a dial change and it's fairly inexpensive from RSC. The other day I saw a pic of a DJ II / Smooth bezel / dark grey Roman see if you can try one of those on. I don't like that dial with the flutted bezel but with the smooth bezel it looked really great Good luck |
