Looks beautiful, great job. I'm sure the car loved it too. They always seen to drive better when you do something nice for them!

I had a '90 300SL with a 5 spd transmission. It wouldn't shift into 5th. I pulled my hair out trying to figure that one out, finally found the throttle position sensor was the problem.
Sometimes I miss working on old Benzes and most times not :)

Nice modifications. The SL is a great car and I am currently on my 5th one but my favorite was a 1994 SL500. Very similar to your vehicle but black on black. These cars are solid and were a lot of fun to drive. I currently own a 2009 SL550 Silver Arrow Edition. Cool car but I miss the earlier model. Maybe it is that time in my life that I miss. Who knows, enjoy your car.

I personally consider the old SL one of the best looking cars ever produced. Same thing for the very first SLK. They we both designed by the italian designer Bruno Sacco, who was responsible for the deisgn of the first Mercedes 190 aswell. Unique italian style that simply cannot be replicated.

R170 was designed by Michael Mauer (now Porsche) and Murat Günak
