Bit of trivia.

The game we know as football was christened “Association Football”. This differentiated from the game that quickly formed as an offshoot and when codified was christened “Rugby Football”. This is why Rugby fans of both codes also refer to their games as “football”. I don’t know much about the history of American Football but it has clearly evolved from Rugby, hence they call it “football”.

“Soccer” as a term was probably coined in the UK in the 19th century as a contraction of the “Assiciation” in Assiciation Football. So the Americans aren’t wrong in calling it “soccer”. In fact soccer was the preferred term for the game in the England in the years after the game was codified.

Of course, all of that can be ignored for the purposes of pisstaking.

All the guys (and girls actually) I know from the south, Alabama/Georgia/Florida, are heavy in to college ball. Also the State College, PA guys.
I grew up in New Jersey... not much college ball to root for there, so pro for me. I played DIII ball so I still make it out to the alma mater or stream their games.

Cardiff City, just promoted to the premier league. I waited 46 years to watch my team in the top flight and it's now happened again four years later. I wonder if we can stay there this time. I doubt it, but I can dream.

Prefer college over pro, but big football fan. UW Huskies are my team and of course GO HAWKS! Huskies will be good, Hawks are rebuilding...we did receive a D- for our draft though

Grew up to close to Green Bay for it not to be the Packers number one and the Wisconsin Badgers number 2. But the NFL rule changes coming for the 2018-2019 season could start to change that soon.
