Remember that the strap version is only available in grey, white dial is completely discontinued. Also you cannot swap strap for bracelets.

Knew about the strap/bracelet, did not know that the white was completely discontinued. That makes a little more sense that the white dial price would creep up.

I won't quit none, simply because i don't take orders and mere because public auction is one of the best indicator out there.
So you will believe it indicated by ASKING prices and not by confirmed PAID price? I don't think you understood how it works- the value is what one paid and not what one ask.

Yes, you got it right, the strap version that isn't even discontinued and some keyboard warriors were considering trading it in + cash (!) for a used 5712 (not to talk about all other warriors "pass" on it even with discount and came here to show it of "because it is not a sport watch with AC"), is now a 60K watch and probably at least 90K for the 1A. If you are looking for sense, look at karma

And it's keep growing. another one on strap sold for 65K, this time under "Important watches" for the first time. This one is sealed http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...html?locale=en

For comparison, a factory sealed 5712/1A sold for 62K in the highest pick of it's popularity (exactly one year ago) http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...html?locale=en

Again, mind the fact that 5726 sold is on strap and 5712 is "Grail" on bracelet! There are no 5726/1A for sale in sight.. beside the 80-100K ones on chrono24

Is that price including 20-25% buyers premium?

Yes. All prices presented with the premium because this is the price actually paid by the buyer, indicating it's market value.

He meant on bracelet. None of the big dealers has them anymore. only 17 on chrono24, starting at about 62K GBP.
Crazy but as we seen before this thing can go higher as it's a discontinued steel nautilus with complications and a dial we won't see again. Look at the price of 3711 those days.

Not bad for an unwanted, easy to get, too thick, not sporty, not real nautilus

Speechless. My good friend has a 5726 grey dial that we are just watching appreciate weekly. Wish I had bought it off him 4 years ago now when he offered me at his cost.

Agreed.... Lunacy!

There is a jeweller in Hatton Garden, London that had two white dials advertised at £60k. Both are now sold a week later (obviously don't know what the actual sale price was)

This is a really good point.
A good grey guy knows the true market. The listings mean nothing-- many of them are 'ghost' listings and not indicative of what the watch is really going for.

If I hear that the the 5726 grey dial is actually selling for $60-90K (strap/bracelet), then that changes things. But I haven't heard that so far

That's pretty much what happen to those warriors who mislead to pass on it and now eating the hat, opening threads about their watch being perfect (yea, an actual thread title "it's perfect" with wrist pic inside ). I guess Shared Sorrow is Halved, not everyday you discover you lost tens of thousand of dollars because you were told "5712 is cool 5726 is dull".
Looks like you handle it better

That's why we have public auctions. A value is what one pay and not what one ask. The strap is ACTUALLY selling for 56K (used) 65K (new).
here-

http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/...html?locale=en

Bracelet? there is none for sale in public auction. If offered in auction there is no reason it wouldn't hit 100K in today's market, based on actual sales above.

Some of those prices quoted in April seem quite reasonable now. Seen asking of 120k USD on bracelet version. Chrono24 and eBay. Crazy. Haven't seen any 5726 with bracelet in auctions, last was strap version getting 500 HKD or so.

Yup, NONE bracelet version to come by at auction. TS who has one going 120K and up. TS offering owners 100K on the spot, no negotiation needed.
