I think the watch at retail and a 2020 BMW M340i would be a good deal at approximately 100K.

Is this a serious question? Much less random if you cut out the hype and look at MSRP across the product range...

I guess my point is I see no inherent reason why prices should be consistent across a product range when demand varies wildly from watch to watch across said product range.

As to "cutting out the hype", "hype" is already a pretty key component of the MSRP--we're not talking about pricing annuities here...

Its all in fun when you stop to think the actual cost of production and materials for this piece is, what, 7 to 8K, USD.

Agreed. $8K for the watch, $92K for the Instagram hype.

Well... 10k cost and 20k revenue for Patek, 40k revenue for the AD, 80k revenue for the flipper. Patek, AD, and flipper all w 50% margin...

If the grey does sell it for 100k he will only have 20% margin unlike everybody else...

At the end of the day, it is about supply and demand. It is definitely not a price I would be willing to pay for a steel PP, but after all it may rock someone else boat.

Who are the people who can miss this kind of cash? I think I would find it hard to spend 80-100k for a 40k watch. Even if I make 400k a month, or am I completely mistaken?

Let's get one thing clear here, if your the extravagant type who can afford it, you will get it. I personally think it's a crazy amount anyway.

It's just ok. For that amount I'd find something else. It's not that exciting.

The truly rich do not stay rich by burning their money unnecessarily over the years.

The watch is worth ~$40k.

Remember when no one wanted Aquanauts? And when there'd even be a Nautilus sitting in the glass box at ADs?

That was 2017.

2017 was 2 years ago.

I wish I saw a Nautilus in the glassbox at an AD in 2017. They got harder to find in 2016. I remember that as I got a 5712A after 3 months of waiting and flipped it immediately for a 4K profit Back then aquanaut still needed 10% off from the AD to meet market price (15 off if you wanted to profit).

Yeah, I think Europe got hit harder earlier than here in the US.

Now Im fighting to get something in steel. I got all PM for Patek.

I'm thinking about bundling a 5905P with X.

X = 5968, 5990, 5712A, 5712R, 5168G Khaki or 5726 Blue

Dont even want the 5905P...Hoping I can squeeze 10% out of them to reduce my cost.
