Mont Blanc

  • Meisterstück
  • Generation

Hello friends.

Please help me decide, I recently baught a MontBlanc Generation BallPoint pen made of precious resin and platinum.

I've noticed that the Generations series is not well known and that there is a similar pen from the Meisterstück series.

As far as I know, the meterials in both are pretty much the same, so for my question, should I return the unused Generation and trade for the more known series Meisterstück or should I stay with the Generation. just for knowledge, beauty wise they are both the same IMO.

Meisterstück:

Generation (this photo is of the roller ball, I own the ballpoint)

Advice appriciated,

Faithfully,
GEZ.

It is purely down to a matter of taste, one is IMHO more traditional, the other more contemporary, rather than go with the more "known" of the two, pick which is the most comfortable for you to use and more pleasing to your eyes.

I own a Meisterstuck roller ball and love it. Recently I found a jewelry store that was going out of business and picked up a Starwalker rubber and platinum roller ball for under $200.00 USD. It is a great pen and is now my daily use pen. But please don't ask me where they are located because they have sold out on all their MontBlancs!!!

I like the Meisterstruck myself, but you obviously were fond of the Generation if you purchased it. I tend to stay with my first choice, then move on after establishing a base. Just me.

Wow, those are nice pens!

I like the flat top on the Generation.

A fine choice.

I owned 2 generations and went back to the Mesterstuck ballpoint. Seriously, I sold all and got a vintage Mesterstuck revamp rollerball. I also had Legrande MesterstuckFP and the LGrande is a very nice comfortable pen. As a matter of fact, you really do need to go to the boutique and try the one that is the most comfortable.

Although I own and use the Meisterstück Le Grand Fountain pen if I was to get a ballpoint.....

I would choose the Generations, just because if you look at the area where you hold it, it seems to have less taper in the barrel. This is the only reason I do not have the Meisterstück ballpoint.

It has to feel comfortable to write with before you have regard to aesthetics.

I have a LeGrande ballpoint and it is a little fat down near the bottom of the barrel. My next will be a Classique as they are a little less rotund. Both are from the Meisterstuck collection.

Truly fine writing instruments.
