This is such an easy thing to do, so simple, particularly with a fairly common watch. Just peruse the offerings of the boutique sellers here. This watch is available constantly there.

And yea now I'm just grappling with a bunch of things...do I want to spend this much money above MSRP, do I wait, do I care about unworn or not? I had all that decided, clearly as I made a purchase, but this experience has certainly impacted my thinking on round 2. |

Ok, let's try this again. I made a purchase from a trusted TRF boutique. Will say which after but would love anyone's opinions agnostic of the seller. I feel much more confident about this version. Could immediately feel the difference in "heft" between this and version 1.0 (which I did weigh and seemed right...).
Anyhow, pictures attached (not great quality once shrunk, I know. Happy to take more if anyone needs) -- let me know if anything stands out! Thanks, Mitch |

Need clear photos if dial area at least.
I can hardly even see the crown guards in photo 1. Is crown unscrewed? A

This all looks OK to me - no red flags
Strangely (dont know why) the first photo still makes crown guards look smaller Other photos correct that so to me - no red flags, but again to me that does not make it authentic Regards

Totally understand you can only do so much from pictures (and bad ones at that). Just looking for an over all consensus of if anything JUMPS out...which I will then cross-reference with the fact the seller is trustworthy to have confidence.
Took a couple more through the loup which might be a little better. |

Indeed I never saw a fake Rolex where the cyclops acts better than genuine You took last photos via a loupe so I am not surprised it looks stronger

As someone who owned this watch, it looks genuine to me.

It looks good to me, but then so did the 1st one (though I can see the flaws now they have been pointed out).
For future reference, unscrewing the crown and pulling it right out and screwing it back in can be a good test if you are unsure, it should wind in and out as smooth as butter, fakes will usually grind in and out and you might see the date move in the window or even the whole dial might move as the crown goes back in. |

I'm not an expert, but should the A in Submariner have a flat top. Or is that not always the case?

On the HULK, both types seem to exist (pointed and flat) - I got no idea what date it changes. But pointed exists and I still think from what I can see the OPs watch is genuine. Here is just one example of pointed "A" - I found a few http://btcwatch.net/en/startseite/20...iner-hulk.html Adam

Interesting. Rolex dial changes are hard to keep track of.

There are people on here that know many of the permutations.
I only know a few. A

Why would someone put a real movement in a fake watch? If your going to due someone anyway just leave the fake movement alone and make an extra $3000.

But a genuine movement will fool (dupe) most if not all. So more chance of selling it at high price And the movements were stolen so no cost at all. A
