1019 back from RSC UK.

Just got my 1019 back from RSC At Kings Hill. I dropped it off 6 weeks ago for a “movement only” service, they quoted 8 weeks so I got it back earlier than expected. I left instructions for the dial and hands not to be replaced and the case , bezel & bracelet not to be polished. I received it back exactly as instructed just as I did with my Deepsea last year and my 1665 a few years ago. I’m sure the horror stories you hear about RSC do happen but that’s not been my experience, they’ve been thoroughly professional from start to finish.

Absolutely speechless. Enjoy that beauty!

I'm a little cautious about promoting RSC for vintage, though. It's a bit of a lottery...

Looks great. I’ve had nothing but good experience with London RSC.

I phoned the main number at Kings Hill, asked for the service department and made an appointment to drop it off (I live in Kent). In better times you could just pitch up and wait your turn if they were busy, hopefully it'll return to that soon. The service department have their own reception desk (behind glass), the main receptionist calls a service technician and you can discuss your requirements to your hearts content. They used to have a technician working in the reception area behind the window but it's all behind closed doors now. When it was at Bexley you could pitch up and the technician would stop what he was doing and open up your watch before your eyes, I watched them regulate my 1665 a couple times after i'd dropped it, all while I waited and all free of charge. Different times.

Stunning watch, and good to hear about RSC in the UK. Congrats.

Yes, there have been a few service horror stories at RSCs, but my experience is that if you're crystal clear about what you want and make sure it's all in writing, the RSCs do a good job servicing movements, even with vintage/classic.

I just picked up my 16520 yesterday from the RSC in NYC after a 12-week wait. I agreed to have my crystal and crown replaced, but nothing else done except a movement service, and absolutely no polishing. Everything was done exactly as I asked, and now I have a 2-year warranty and Rolex paperwork for the watch. (Damage was about $1500 all in.)

My sub was kicked by a horse a few years ago and the bezel was knocked off and lost in the field.
I rang the RSC in Kent UK explained the problem, they said bring it down.
They checked it over and fitted a new Bezel all while I waited, can,t remember how much it cost, but in and out in an hour so very good service. Can't fault that!

I've never had any problems with Rolex UK's quality of work.

I do, however, disagree with them about there being a bit of a problem with pushers coming off WG Daytonas!

That looks to be a great example of one of my favourite references. Thanks for sharing.

That's an absolutely beautiful watch. Good to know Rolex UK are still servicing 4 digit models, I've been seeing conflicting reports. Enjoy!

Mine was knocked off and lost playing cricket at the time I was very happy with a nice new bezel to replace the horrible old faded one!
