Based on water resistance failure risk, or other reasons?

It's so big .. I'd be afraid it would weight me down under the water and I'd never be able to get back above for air

Unsure specifically for AP, but typically the advice is not to use pushers of any sort when under water on a mechanical watch.

However, I do believe the rotating bezel may be used on the AP Diver, but the crown should not be screwed in again whilst under water. Guess this makes sense as it’s the gasket which provides the water resistance, not the ‘tightness’ of how the crown has been screwed in.

I’m sure there was a similar thread a while back and AP had confirmed this in writing to someone. But please do chime in if I’ve got it incorrect.

Haha !! This is why they also offer Ceramic

On the plus side, it would mean less lead on the weight belt.

I’ve not gone diving again yet since I got mine, so have yet to face the decision.

Would make a rather gorgeous wrist shot though !

I also would not use the pushers underwater.

Hypothetical here:

Take it "diving" and use the pusher.....if its gets water in it......take it to AP and say you were using it for what it was designed for..........DIVING....LOL

An iphone can go underwater and this thing cant..... to AP

To be fair, I don't think outside the diver chronographs, the other chronos are actually designed or ISO certified as dive watches.

I am sure however, and would very much expect, AP to cover a warranty claim on water ingress provided all manufacturing instructions had been followed as recommended, and the failure was caused by the watch itself as opposed to user error.
