Buying "Pre owned" Rolex UK
Greetings everyone, I've seen the earlier thread on this question and noted the outlets mentioned. While fishing round on Chrono24 I came across Milton Diamonds in Liverpool & St Helens (much nearer to me than London) and apparently holding a large diverse stock of used Rolex at what appear to be viable prices. Do any of you have any experience with them? I've also looked at the auction sites and noted the additional costs that need to be added to the hammer price, taking this into consideration and the "as seen" nature of the transaction I know I lack the expertise to be a confident buyer but would welcome comments and experiences.
I did enjoy my recent trip to London and cruising around Bond Street, Burlington Arcade, and the Royal Arcade. Talking to sellers was informative and helpful. It's frustrating that many conceal their prices but I guess that's how they get us through the door. Being offered a watch to try on in Aspreys that would embarrass a drug dealer was the highlight. Cheers. |

Jopsons jewellers in Carlisle are fairly close to you - small but very knowledgeable.

Please note, Haywood Milton and Miltons Diamonds are not one and the same!
Haywood Milton is miltonaires.com , and although there is a family connection, the businesses are separate. Haywood will, I'm sure, be along to clarify soon! |

I have not heard anything negative about Milton Diamonds but have not previously purchased from them. My advice would be to stick with the well known sellers, particularly if you are fairly new to the world of vintage watches. Based on my personal experience I would recommend The Old Watch Shop, Miltonaires and Blowers. All have a wide range of stock and are long established, highly reputable and knowledgable dealers. Good luck.

Sorry for my late response on this - have been away on hols.
Others have mentioned the website which serves me and my companies, which saves me that embarrassing conflict on the forum. Thankyou to those who commented and so kindly. For happy, historic reasons going back three generations (my great grandfather and three of his sons were behind it all), there are now two other companies which are quite separately owned by distant cousins and served by the website www.miltonsdiamonds.com While I have no financial interest in these companies, we have always got on very well and they are straight, well established businesses. You should expect no problem from them and if ever you had one you could expect to be properly looked after. Like my own companies, they have a long public record and extensive assets, which should reassure you. They will do mail order / sales over the internet, which I won't touch. If they have just the watch you want, you can expect to buy with confidence. Haywood

Ditto Haywood and Blowers. I also use some good guys in London who don’t have premium sites that need paying, but are all good people.
