As I sit here waiting for my early flight out of Las Vegas, I thought I’d share some pics of some really cool vintage pieces from the Rolex boutique in the Wynn. Didn’t know this was there until when I was about to leave after browsing the many datejusts the SA asked if I’d like to browse their “Rolex museum” in the back... not sure if this has been posted already but couldn’t find any about it. Here are some quick pics I took (apologies for the blurry pics - it was hard to get a good shot under lights and through glass):

I am glad to see they’ve kept that gallery open. My first visit there many years ago made a great impression of their effort to share some history at the expense of floor space in the front of the shop.

Amazing! How do they get all the watches to stop at 10:10 and 32/33 seconds though?! Always wondered how...

TLDR: with the placement of these hands, the arms frame the Rolex logo, the date window is not obstructed, and all subdials are in plain view.

But surely then they would have to hope it loses power at exactly 32 seconds past the hour..?

They would take the crown out at 32 seconds... Three days later the power would have been lost.... Wind the crown back in?

Cool article .. I knew that they did 10:10 for unobstructed but wasn’t sure how they always got to 31-32 seconds. Only way would be to pull crown and like Other poster said to let reserve run down I guess.

But when the crown's out doesn't that lock the mechanism?

So the power can't run down if the spring isnt being allowed to unwind....

Those vintage movements were non-hacking, so the seconds hand would continue to sweep even with the crown pulled out to the time set position.

I’m guessing most likely the seconds hand was set while the watch was partially disassembled.

Definitely worth taking a look for sure .. unfortunately I didn’t stay in there long cause didn’t want to anger the wife lol. I was dragging her into all different watch stores on the trip
