1803 in the sun

The sun came out and I managed to get a couple of shots. The matte dial and gold writing with yellowed day/date wheels just looked amazing.

Nicely unpolished too! I like the black dial. I would hit that crystal with some PolyWatch! Interesting strap choice.

I think it may have had a light polish, but it’s a pretty good case. I was looking for a black dial for long time and it’s beautiful. Matte with gilt writing. The strap divides opinion, but I love it.

I like a DD on a NATO, although many people don't. I love the contrast between the absolute decadence of the head and the bare-bones functionality of the $20 strap. I do prefer a leather NATO for this model, though.

Beautiful piece! IMHO it looks much better on leather/nato strap than on president bracelet - specially vintage reference like this one

Hello my friend!! Thanks for your help on Instagram! I’ve tried it on a black leather nato and it just felt too thick.

I wouldn’t wear on the bracelet. I managed to get a nato with gold hardware and it just looks so wrong it’s right!!

Just seen your one. Strong case as well.

Unfortunately the dial was found to be aftermarket and the watch returned.

How was it aftermarket? Do you mean that it was repainted or was the dial an outright fake?

Hmmm, looks good to me. Id be curious to know how you came to that conclusion. If its a fake then its a really really good one, all the way down to the patina on the gold that can be seen in your macro pics.

I have seen a dial very similar on an 1803 that was on a Gold Nugget band that watchcrusher was selling some time back. Looks similar.

The font is very slightly off. Too thick. There are similar dials.
