Thoughts on this 16800 I just purchased?

Dial looks clean. Luminova insert. The bracelet clasp has some polish to it but to my eye the lugs look to be in decent shape.

Before I remove sticker, any opinions?

What's up with the red band around the bottom lugs - is there a surprise underneath it?

If you don’t play the game you lose just the same.

Nice watch.

Bracelet is missing some links, including permanent, but nicely done.

Crown and caliber. They’re usually more expensive than what you can find privately but every once in awhile during a sale you can match or beat private party prices.

Watch is clean and running well. I’m happy with it, especially for the price. I’ve ordered a correct tritium insert with some patina that I’ll put in next week.

They do know that the Sticker can be removed with a Hair Dryer and put back on if need be?

Which permanent, Larry? On the six o'clock side there are four permanent links so I think no one was removed, but of course I could be wrong.

Picked up a cracked pearl tritium insert that I prefer to the luminova insert. It actually looks a bit worn now without being overdone.

Noticed in another vintage thread the same seller had the red tape over 2 pretty brutal lugs, kinds hard to honestly sell a watch if you are covering up the biggest flaw imo.

To be fair to Crown and Caliber they have fairly good photos on their website and they don’t specialize in vintage watches. I don’t think covering lugs is an intentional way to deceive.

Like Brent posted above, Crown & Caliber provides plenty of high quality photos from every angle of their watches on their site without the red tape on them. They only put the tape on when sending it out for the initial looking-over period.
