Does Rolex end up putting current movements inside older cases?
I apologize if something like this has been asked before, but I'm curious if Rolex puts their new movements into former cases. For example, I have been saving up for a blue-dialed Rolesium Yacht-Master for a long time and I'm wanting to know if that model will always have the 3135 or if Rolex will put a movement like 3255 into them. That in itself will ultimately determine when I decide to purchase one.

The reference number changes when the movement changes. Ie: 14060 became the 14060M when the cal 3000 left.
Minor modifications like the 3185 to 3186 in the Gmt master 2 didn't warrant a change. If the YM gets a new movement, it'll likely be a different reference

The YM-like a lot of other models-may indeed eventually be fitted with the new movement...but I wouldn't let it deter me from getting the watch I wanted.
