Yes. A '9083' I'm thinking ...

I became aware of these when a fella down here in New Zealand had one for sale.

They are surprisingly early, circa mid-50s with a manual wind 17j movement. Must have been quite a funky design way back then I thought.

As always, thanks! I have seen a lot of Rolex watches, but this one stumped me. A friend has it and wanted to know if worth having serviced for his daughter, I said most any Rolex is worth having serviced if authentic, but I had never seen it

My watchmaker has a similar one in gold, somewhat newer. I have seen maybe 3 of these
in both metals. Very rare watch but not really to valuable. A great conversation piece and part of Rolex history.
