I have advanced dementia, which is why I also have a PP 5146 triple calendar w/ moon phase. This is in case I forget the month and moon phase as well as the day of the week.

If you, like me work everyday then you could argue a DD will remind you to chill on a Sunday!

You can have the day in italian, and other languages.

The bracelets are clearly different, can't mistake one for the other, and the Jubilee on DJ no longer has the concealed clasp.

DD is the best all gold watch out there in my view. Only down side is it can be too recognizable.

Ofcourse most of us know what day it is, but most of us also knows which month it is... So why get a Sky-Dweller then? It's a taste question I guess. If I could afford one, I would get a Day Date first thng in the morning.

I've also got three steel Submariners. Rated to 200/300m. If I found myself, say, 20m underwater, that would be a big problem for me. I also have a Seiko Orange Monster (200m).

Function really has nothing to do with it.

I often forget what day it is, so I bought my DD to help. It was worth the extra $31K over my DJ.

I

How is, say, Tuesday different from Wednesday to you?
For me there’s no difference of note. I don’t care either. So I tend to forget the day today if there’s no special events/appointments on a specific day.
I can imagine a lot of busy people on the other hand have too much on their plate to care about the day of the week either.

Isn't the DD the only watch that actually displays the entire spelling of the day of the week as well - no abbreviations.

It's, "Monday", not, "Mon"....and seeing, "Wednesday" spelt out entirely as opposed to, "Wed"...epic!

There is a definite appeal to precious metals. It’s one of the few Rolexes that are that way. It’s interesting to think of that considering the speculative prices of stainless steel watch is nowadays but at the end of the day precious metal is always valuable.

The bracelet and the case and the size make for an amazing time piece. It’s not a sports watch but it’s not a dress watch. It really serves both purposes extremely well.

It’s value lies in its simplicity and its power to create reaction. It’s durable and easy to read.

I agree on the DD 40 platinum.

I didn’t buy my day date because of its functions. I use my iPhone to check the time, date etc. I bought my dd40 to reward myself for my hardwork. I owned a couple of Rolex and one AP before. The day-date is something special.

Me too! It’s an amazing time piece, only thing I would ever traded it for is a platinum Daytona
