I like the president bracelet looks, the dial options, the day complication- I’ve pretty much owned only watches with a date complication, and the pm only options. I also like how it has a classic design that has withstood the test of time.

If they make a easy link bracelet? Oh boy...

It’s value lies in its simplicity and its power to create reaction. It’s durable and easy to read.

I agree on the DD 40 platinum.

My father and godfather both had a Day Date. So purchasing one when I had the opportunity was a way to remember both of them.

The complications are nice....you could argue...who needs to know the weekday...but that’s part of the history and appeal. The date being most important for me. I love the DD40....I love the DD history, the proportions, the bracelet and bezel, and the fact it is only in PM (I prefer PM pieces). It’s iconic and always relevant, an all-around, do everything, watch!

the president bracelet in YG is so irresistible, and this model is almost a symbol of what most people first coming to their mind when imaging a rolex watch.

Love my 118209... with the oyster bracelet it's totally under the radar... wearing it every day as my only watch...

Agreed.

The WG DD is, IMHO, is a case-study in understated elegance

Yes, but I sometimes get them mixed up because they are both gold, they both tell the time, day and date.

I own and wear both with impunity

Rolex describes the DD as it's most "prestigious model," so even they love it best!

Yeah I mean it’s a feeling I guess. Like some other ppl have said, not really something you can explain. For me a yellow gold Champaign dial 36mm is the absolute ultimate. Until then my Datejust and Tudor “Vice President” will have to do. Something about a 36mm oyster to me is just perfection in every way

The date is super handy for me. I usually know what day of the week it is (MTWTF) but often, at work, or dating something, of if you forgot about an appointment, it's super handy. Plus the cyclops---so very classic Rolex.

Got me a DJ41 TT Champagne/Jubilee, and the next one will be a DayDate-40.

Thank God I don't have a compulsion to have every bezel option they offer on the GMTs!

I too have a DJ41, along with a sub, I was disappointed that the DJ41 on TT, didn’t have a hidden clasp, hence traded for WG, Blue Stick, Oyster.
I wish Rolex offered hidden clasp on DJ41, and I would go TT again.
I know they can slot a 5mm adjustment, and now they want me to buy a day/date..

Completely agree. I have both DJ and DD and there is no comparison. I do not use or care about the day function, but the DD gets the vast majority of my wrist time.
