Changing bracelet between Sub and GMT

Hello guys!

I’m now thinking on getting GMT Master II 16710. I already own Sub 16610. And my question is that - is it possible to change bracelets between those models on plug and play basis?
I’m considering getting GMT on jubilee and it would by nice to be able to put it from time to time on oyster.

Many thanks for answers

I put this question in General discussion as it’s not about vintage models - sorry for mistake

It s possible. You can use a Submariner 93150 bracelet with 501/501b end-links on your GMT. This is also mine configuration on my 5-digit GMT-Master II :-)

Sure its possible to put a jubilee on an Sub but would it be correct? I have heard that you could have ordered it that way for a short time back in the day.

Personally, the "you could have ordered it that way" is anecdotal so I wouldn't consider it correct. But I would like to know for sure if its fact and not a story...

IMHO, I dont think jubilees look correct on a Sub.

Excuse me but anecdotal? What does that mean?

It is not anecdotal at all but a fact - GMT IIs could have came from Rolex with a 913150 bracelet. The GMT 16750, 16700, GMT II 16760 and the GMT II 16710 could all have came with the 93150 Oyster. Below is a photo of a 16710 warranty paper with the style number in the top right coded at the end -9315 - which indicates a 93150 bracelet.

To the OP, make sure the bracelet you choose will fit your model. If your current watch has a solid end link bracelet, you will need a solid end link bracelet with whatever other bracelet you choose.

Thank you JP , I learned something again today.

A question if I may , the papers shown indicate model 16710 GMT the last four digits 9315 Oyster Bracelet . What do the digits A30B in the middle indicate ? Bezel Colour ?.

B would be bracelet. A30 does not indicate bezel color until around 1999. You'll find the A30 on other models including several sport models.

30 indicates that dial is black color. 50 is white color dial etc.

JP I am aware of everything you've posted here and nothing in my post even mentioned the OPs GMT... I was addressing the OPs interchanging of the bracelets which I read to include putting the Jubilee on the Sub.

I don't think i was clear so Ill say it another way: I have heard one could order a SUBMARINER with a jubilee but Rolex did not supply them that way. This is something I've read in posts and heard at shops but don't know it as fact so its anecdotal.

Sorry, my mistake. I would agree with you on the premise regarding Jubilees being available from the factory on Submariners - this is something that I have yet to see documented. Of course, once at the dealership, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that ADs changed out bracelets at the request of a customer.

Many thanks for all the answers - it amazing how much do you know about Rolex

I rather think ofusing OP bracelet with GMT than jubilee with Sub, but if there is such a possiblity then why not ot try it?

Perhaps not "correct", but, I think they look pretty cool on an old Sub.
(not to mention, one of the most comfortable bracelets)
