Day Date on leather for GMT Master

I have the option to change my 18238 Day Date on leather for a two tone 1989 GMT (16713). I have a sub which I love and this would be similar but unique in its own.

I don't wear the DD that often, although I love it, it is only 36mm and I find it small.

The GMT is an early version of the 16713 - tritium dials and hollow end links, and does not have a matching two tone clasp.

Questions: does it matter that it is tritium and hollow end links? My sub isn't so I have no reference. And would you swap? Very subjective, I know.

To me it’s a pretty even trade depending on condition. You might be loosing a little but not much in my opinion. You will get better advice with pictures.
