After basel...intersting thought came to mind
So we all know that this year's basel was hmm....interesting at best..
Haven't seen any sold but seeing GMT prices nearly double and some instances even triple made me think. Rolex probably would never do this but. If they had done say a limited run of 1675 pieces of the original 1675. Wouldn't that be pretty damn cool? Not a remake or an "reinterpretation", homage of any sort but an actual brand spankin new from the factory 2020 model of the 1675. I'm positive theres enough Rolex nuts to pay probably 50 thousand for one easy. I dont know. bored at work.... what do you guy think? 1680 pieces of the 1680 would be cool too.. |

Im certain recreations of this type would sell in a heart beat. Imagine big crown subs, and 6239 Daytonas too

Good idea in the abstract but I dont know that Rolex would mess with the radium in the big crown or even the tritium in the 1675... Luminova of superluminova of either would just not work imho...

That sounds like something Omega would do.

Much better idea to make millions and sell them at the original prices. Totally flood the market with them - everyone can have a pseudo-nouveaux-vintage Rolex for a couple of hundred bucks. That'd kill Swatch overnight. Then, suddenly Rolex would lose a lot of its inherent appeal as it would no longer be exclusive.

Nope. Not interested.
They need to focus on tomorrow and not clone the past. |

Many people would be ready to pay ridiculous amounts for those but I think Rolex would never do it
