I am really considering one, but not sure by pics I have seen if the dials are plain or have some texture and striping to them?

The textures do have some striping to them. I think that they are more pronounced in the blue version. They show up nicely in the press pics.
I have found that in the black dial they do not show up as much, to me the dial looks more black than striped ( not that there is anything wrong with that). I prefer the black to the blue dial.
