It would be a good idea to contact Mamas, another fine member of our forum. He's very much into Omegas and has an excellent collection himself. He would be your best source for all the info you need. Good luck - JJ

Manny, there is not much more to add than Bill Sohnes review:
http://home.xnet.com/~cmaddox/omega_ranchero.html the ranchero is one of the most faked vintage watches out there, and you really are entering tiger country when trying to buy one off ebay, as there are fakes there all the time. Even vintage dealers have been known to have fake rancheros. The omega vintage market at the moment has really started to climb.. a similar watch the railmaster usually sells for $2000.. the last one recently sold for $4200!!!. i would say you are looking at least at $2000 for a ranchero.. and probably more. if you do find any, i could have a look for you and give you my thoughts.. but i would strongly advise that you are very careful...as the ranchero is known to be a fakers delight!!! really obvious fake on for sale now: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Omega-Ra...QQcmdZViewItem less obvious redials: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...15#msg_1908603 |

No idea if it's real or fake but I just saw this new TZ post and knew you were looking. Don't know the seller.

the dial of this one looks original, although i suspect ity has been relumed.. which would be a deal killer for me personally.. you would also need to make sure that caseback ref and calibre is corrcet for this piece before thinking about buying it.
