Restrict Private Messages
For the first time ever I received two private messages this morning from 0 post count new members.
They were obviously scams, I did not click the links and reported both. However, I have now turned off my private messaging to not get more and I am wondering if private messages can be restricted to a certain post count or time on the forum ie., 30 days, 30 posts etc. It is a shame when a small minority of dishonest people can cause so much trouble for so many. Thanks

It's been discussed before, but scammers would just wait 30 days (some already plant sleeper accounts months in advance) or just quickly post 'congrats' x30 (or whatever).

A PM is not much different than an email from an anonymous source. It’s just restricted to members on TRF.
You open them at risk, so I agree with simply deleting them unopened. The software can only do so much - and the fraudsters (like Adam said) will know how to get around it anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I tried to send a PM for a for sale watch and I don't think it went through? I checked my sent box and it's coming up empty?
