Icon20 Help with 93150 bracelet

Hi,

I would need to shorten the 6 clock side on the bracelet for my 14060M. Read somewhere on this forum that a watchmaker could remove the rivet on the clasp and the “connector link” and then re-rivet the clasp directly to the bracelet?

Anyone done this? Noticed any problems down the line?

Thanks for your help

The traditional way is to pull apart, and discard, one of the permanent links. That way you can always add more links, or disconnect it from the clasp.

Yes, the attaching link rivet can be ground off, that link removed, and the clasp directly riveted to the first link. You will also need a sleeve as the rivet is smaller in diameter than the screw-bars. You then cannot change or adjust any links on that side unless you grind off the rivet and revert back to the original configuration.

Here is an explanation of the second method.

Thank you very much for the response! The first, traditional, way would perhaps then be more straight forward. Although the potential for damage to the remaining link(s) scares me a bit...

Here is a thread that contains a couple of different approaches to taking out the last permanent link.
