I very much appreciate the 40 mm sizes.
I am blessed with a casual life style and a 36-40mm range suits that kind of life .
More importantly- they are much easier to read time on ( for aging eye balls )!

Personally, any size is fine if the lugs don't overhang. That is not gender specific - it goes for everybody, IMO.

For dress watch my sweet spot is 34-36mm; casual to sport I own a 38 & 40mm. No wrong answer here - depends on the owner and what SHE prefers :)

My wife had a 35mm midsize Yacht-Master. Now she’s got a 40mm GMT.

My girl goes from a 31mm RG DJ, though a 39mm ultrathin dresswatch to a 42mm Panerai quite seamlessly.

My wife had a couple DJ28s, but rarely wore them because they were too small and hard to read. I bought her a DJ31 and she loves it. Was considering moving a DJ36 TT, but had her try it on first and was pinched. Now my old DJ36 TT and a DJ36 SS we picked ups see the majority of her wrist time. Thankfully she thought my Daytona (and other sport models) were too big!

My wife wears SS DaytonaC white dial and I think it looks perfect on her. But when she tried on my black dial, it looks kind of big. With that being said, I think the color makes a big difference too.

36mm Datejust is my wife's choice and daily wearer. She also has a 50mm Seiko she calls her fun, statement piece..

I thought my wife would go with a 34mm but ended up choosing a 36mm after trying on a few. I agree the color and configuration makes a difference. I feel like the TT DJ36 feels bigger than the SS version but maybe that’s just me.

I asked my wife what she wanted and she specifically asked for a 26mm DJ. This was just around the time the 28mm was coming out. She compared the 26, 28, 31 and 36 but much prefers the smaller size. So that’s the one we bought.

Afraid today size is mainly dictated by what most have been stereotyped by the net, and so called social media, but today IMHO it should be called anti social media.Myself a big guy with eight half inch wrists, but quite happy to wear my vintage Rolex some of those just 30mm.Myself not stereotyped as I wear any watch I want no matter the size its that simple.

I think there are two ways of looking at it:

1. What size watch men like to see on woman
2. What a woman likes to see on her wrist.

I like to see them have a collection such as DJ in yellow & white gold gold President bracelet in 28/31mm for dressier occasions. And a DJ 34 or 36mm SS for sportier looks.
And add a classic Cartier Tank in YG (any size in smaller scale).

Then a Rose Gold 34mm for in between looks& and Hermes Cape Cod stainless in a men’s size.

But she should pick, as long as not a Michael Kors.

My watches range from 34mm to 37mm - I am (luckily?) constrained by my little stick wrists when purchasing watches!

I tried to get my wife to like a DJ 36 but DJ31 it was when we got the the AD. Then, I got an older 34MM salmon dial Air-King for myself, and she stole it. So yeah, 31-34 here.

Anybody have a super cool old Air-King I can borrow?
