She is looking Lady-datejust 28:279173 (with diamond) VS Datejust 31:278273 (with diamond)

Welcome to the forum

A lot will depend on your mothers style and size preference. Luckily DJ’s come in a wide variety of sizes ranging from 28, 31, 34, 36 and 41. Within those sizes there are a myriad of metal, bracelet, bezel and dial configurations to choose from.

Depends on the woman and her circle of peers.

At most of the country clubs I spend time in, most of the women do not wear giant watches. They do like diamond dials and bezels though.

The half naked women in magazines, wearing dangling Daytonas and Day Dates (frequently upside down), aren't being photographed to show women fashion ideas.

that's true but then why rolex named "lady" in 28 mm instead of 31 or up ? I guess Rolex choose 28 mm as an ideal size for ladies that's why named "lady-datejust". Am i think true ?

Under the configure button they list “ladies” sizes from 28-36, but in reality any size goes these days

My wife wears 36-40mm she has work dj41, root beer , she currently wears her dd36 and a Chanel j12. I think the days of women wearing smaller watches are pretty much gone. You see a bunch of celebrity women they are wearing , daytona , DDs etc

The current trend is 36-40mm. There are several threads here on TRF with photos of such.

Use the advanced search, title only, with “Women”, and many threads on the subject are available.

Only the woman can decide what feels right for her. Do not make the mistake I did (2 times) and buy what you think works for them.

The field is wide open for women's watches.
Get what one likes and forget everything else unless price is a major consideration otherwise price should not enter into it.
For the record.
Value retention or investment considerations are irrelevant where women's watches are concerned and a womens watch is much the same as any other piece of jewellery as far as the market is concerned.
In summary, the more money one spends on a woman's watch regardless of brand. The bigger the hit as soon as one walks out of the shop.
Buy with the heart.

My wife settled on a DJ 31 after we looked around at just about everything that was available for a good many months.
She was happy with her decision and doesn't have any interest in anything else.
Just as her watch would look ridiculous on any male member of this forum, any of my watches wouldn't look any good on her.
A 31 mm watch is probably her limit.

It all depends upon the end user.
From the information given by the OP, it would seem as though the smaller end of the spectrum is where their mother is gravitating to

My wife has a 34 OP but I'd really like to get her a 36 Explorer. I think it would look good on her.

I like 31mm and I’m 5”11. I just don’t like big watches or handbags but that’s my preference

IMO, the maximum size of watch one can wear is with the watch lug to lug length shorter than the width of the wrist.

I’m not a big fan of oversized watch.....I think it looks weird with a watch bigger than the wrist....

It's not about the size. It's about how you use it.

My wife wears 31-36 Rolex watches. She is wanting a 40mm Rainbow Daytona. But she doesn't not like the DD40. A DD40 on a woman looks retarded. Only the DD36. So it depends on the watch.

31-36MM for DJ
36MM for DD
40MM for Daytona

36mm DJ with super-jubilee bracelet (If she is lucky she may still find one in stock )
Blue diamond dial with diamond bezel is a winner ,Check it out ,

There’s a picture of Charlize Theron Wearing the mighty James Cameron 44mm Rolex. While this could sounds extreme on a lady wrist I was not bothered by the look. I actually love seeing girls and ladies with big Rolexes, the one in the 39 - 41mm range. Almost all of my colleague girl friends, “fashion related business” sport those case sizes on their wrists accompanied by other brackets to both sides of the watch. Their Rolexes look amazing on them.

My wife wears a full gold DJ 26mm, SS/Pt Yachtmaster 29mm and my DSSD but really loves her 31mm TT everose DJ

I like her 26mm best, probably because of the President bracelet
