That looks good on her I really wouldn’t suggest her to go higher not even to a 31 my partner wears a 26 and it looks very elegant and classy

My wife-to-be has a SS 36 mm DJ with diamond dail/bezel, but gravitates more to the rose gold of my 40 mm TT CHNR. I see a lot of women wearing Subs, GMTs and Daytonas.
This is the age of the toolwatch, women know what is in fashion and hot.

It all depends on the size of the women's wrist. My wife is good with 34mm-36mm

I have to be honest, due to her tanned skin tone the CHNR looks better on her then on me.

I think your 'mummy' has to try them in for size. There is no right or wrong size. Everyone has different wrist sizes and that's what is the deciding factor. My wife can't even pull off a 36mm.... Her 28mm is on the smallest factory bracelet adjustment. Any smaller and it would have to go back to Rolex to have a smaller bracelet.

Agreed...It does depend on the watch! Whatever SHE feels comfortable wearing and doesn’t look like a dinner plate on her wrist.

It is all a matter of preference. My wife abandoned the 26mm for 31mm, which she feels is perfect for here datejusts. For a more sporty look, she wears a 36mm Oyster Perpetual. She has about a 6.25 inch wrist.

My wife and I spent some time at the Rolex store in NYC recently. It was the first time she really shopped them. She’s 5’4” with petit wrists and preferred the 31. She also likes the 28 in purple (they don’t come in 31, they said) but from a size POV, the 31 was a perfect balance. She fell in love with the mother of pearl face. I must admit it’s sharp.

The 28mm Datejust is right for my wife, and she has about a 6.5 inch wrist. Smaller watches look more "elegant". Most men aren't looking for feminine elegance, but many women are. Big sports watches on women might open up more options, but its at the expense of elegance. If I was going sports watch for a woman, I wouldn't go above 34mm. This is obviously general rules of thumb, as size of wrist/application/style all come into play.

which size is ideal for women ?

Mary has no desire for anything other than traditional sized ladies watches. She has loved both the Rolex and Tudor she has!!! Similarly because of her work as an RN she prefers the less adorned models.

I really love the white dialed 31 mm OP with blue/white gold arabic markers (I think that's right).

31-36MM for DJ
36MM for DD
40MM for Daytona
Dont agree on the DD40 .Think for a tall athletic lady a DD40 will work very well .

My wife has a YGDD36 /green diamond dial but she has very slim wrists .36mm is her max and that's all she wears. Two DJ36s, as well .

I think ladies can wear any size they like. There are no as strict rules as applied for men. I have seen a lot of ladies wearing even 50 mm fashion watches.
Here is my wife with a sub

Yeah, she refuses to even entertain a 31mm, and I agree with her (as I should ).

I think 31mm is quite suitable for women.

I have to vote for the 28mm, it is a classic size, will not go out of style. That said, what size shoes does she wear? Size 6.5 or size 10? That will help answer your question.

I love larger watches on women. My wife has an OP36 and a 40MM Explorer II and they both look great on her. She also has a Grand Seiko GMT Hi Beat which I believe is in the 38-39 range. The woman's stature has a lot to do with it. My wife is 6 ft and about 135 lbs so she can definitely pull off a larger watch.

Bigger better generally these days. Maybe at least try on a 34 or 36. Otherwise 31.
