Vintage Rolex sub... Do they counterfeit them?
Hey all
I am interested in buying a submariner from 1986. I was wondering if they counterfeit these models. I have attached some photos. https://imgur.com/a/NBdlVhR |

Lume
Sorry for my ignorance but the lumes look irregular. Is this just some sort of patina or refinish?

Yes, often. Also franken'd and refinished.
There's much to learn before pulling the trigger. |

Much counterfeiting going on and has been since early 2019.

ton of fake vintage Great White, Double Reds on rivet bracelets- some laughable, some disturbingly accurate- then there's all the franken watches- combinations like real dials or plexi in a fake case with a fake movement ....
I'd only touch one from a very trusted seller. Edit- I saw "vintage" in your title, but went too vintage....but yes, same for 80's and 90's models.

Dial
I have been doing research and it looks like the dials in the late 80s had white goal surrounds on the lumes. Trying to figure out if this is a service dial or original.

Nothing wrong with that watch.
It has a service bracelet and so I might expect other service replacements on it as well.

Watch looks good to me, as you’ll note on the clasp for the bracelet “S“ indicating service bracelet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the input
I'm trying to figure out the date of the service bracelet. It says S VB? Or V8. |

Make sure you do your due diligence before making such a big purchase. There are MANY fake Rolex watches out in the wild. Buy the seller.
