Could you imagine if this was in Tantalum? We would have a riot and the internet would break.

I think Patek needs to embrace open innovation and crowdsource ideas. At the very least they should read on this forum and the Hodinkee comments to get a feel of what people actually desire in 2020. Clearly they have no capable product designers left in Geneva.

And I agree with member enjoythemusic; if you feel the need to charge such a steep premium for a watch that doesn't look special on its face, you had better have the newest movement in there and a crazy good warranty period. I'm glad it's limited to 1,000 pieces. Chances are slim that I'll ever see one in the metal.
Patek makes probably the most diverse range of models of any manufacturer so it’s not surprising there are a number of models that don’t appeal to every watch enthusiast. That is good, it is to be celebrated, but it most certainly doesn’t mean no thought goes into designing the pieces ‘you’ don’t like and I am surprised that any lover of high horology can’t appreciate that Patek is such a success because it can appeal to many tastes.
You don’t like it, I understand, enjoythemusic doesn’t like any modern Patek, I don’t understand, but it seems you both feel the need vindicate your dislike with vitriol.

I think the vitriol you're picking up is frustration and anxiety. I'm a huge Patek fanboy. Have the Foulkes coffee table book downstairs in the living room and a stack of Patek magazines. I've just been remarkably unimpressed by the 5212A and now this limited production release. I think they could do so much better and I wish they did. The frustration and anxiety I have is that Patek seems to live off of past glories and is not actually innovating both in terms of design and service and might be on a downward slope to insignificance.
This seem like a cash grab for wealthy brand hoarders to get rid of surplus movements. I know money in this subforum is relative but does this seem like a $28k watch to you? It's almost like the gray market premium is already priced in.

The piece is very very nice but its not very easy to get one!!
If it would be usual it would be no limited edition.
And 28k will be no brake for real PP fans.

I don't know why people get upset...if you don't like it don't buy it.

If it looks like something else...so what...tons of watches look alike.

I mean i get it...we are all spirited enthusiasts but I'm sure more is coming...it always is...

I really like it and I'd love to get my hands on one but that will be very tough.

As usual, this limited piece will go to insiders, collectors (that keep their watches in safes instead of wearing them), grey market and profiteers...

Yes especially since it celebrates the new manufacture.

It celebrates the new manufacture but does not have the new manufacture movement.

How lazy.

It would make a good pair with 5208T but that's about it. I would take 6006G over this.

That would be innovative. Alas, Patek does not really innovate... unless you have a few million for something that makes us all proud. Added benefit, the date window matches the dial.

NEW NAME: Rolex has the Hulk and Pepsi.... this new blue dial PP is called -- Blue Floor Tile.

Is PP trolling their customers? Pretty please, can someone tell us who chose the visual style and components. Am curious who's to blame. Did PP hire a Hermes designer, or LV-ish? I could see this as a $8000 watch in those stores.

Yup, LV-ish https://www.chrono24.com/louisvuitto...-id9572833.htm

Really nice piece. It is contemporary and casual. Steel case is super interesting. However, I got too many blue watches now. Hoping to see wrist shots soon for those you chasing it. Cheers,

Most likely. I for one very much prefer the 5522 over the 6007. Where the 5522 represents "less is more" and "form follows function", the 6007 is a mixed if not slightly confused effort in my eyes. Not sure if I'll ever pay market price for a preowned 5522 but I am not interested in trying to obtain a 6007 at MSRP.

LOL and huge thanks for having a sense of humor. Color me perplex at the direction of PP. But hey, they keep selling so they know faaaar more and me. I do like the Panerai band.

I think the 5522 is still trading double retail at around $40-$45k. I see this watch in the same boat imho...

It's ok, these days I'm just glad when a new release doesn't make start to scheme how to get it. This one in particular didn't for it for me.

I think I like the 6006 better.

Seems they went cheap with this. Dial is not even guilloche with a rose lathe but rather "embossed".

Yes. Unacceptable for a Patek IMO. Seems like the same pattern was guilloche on the 5208T but not on this.

A cheap attempt of a watch.

So harsh. :)

Just watch it command double retail on the market because it's an LE Patek.
