Here I Am, Watch You Like A Hurricane

What are you wearing this hurricane?

My parents had to evac our family beach home and are safely here (a bit offshore). Always a great day when Batman and Robin are together

Stay safe.

We’re in the St Augustine / Ponte Vedra area. We’re not in the bullseye, but we’re likely to see tropical storm conditions.

Never a dull moment around here…

Going a bit “offshore” is an interesting hurricane strategy…

Hope all our alert zone TRF’ers are, and will remain, safe. Some will have high wind for as much as 10 hours.

At least 10 people from up North have texted me and said, "are you being evacuated?" LOL!

I really appreciate everyone expressing concern, no doubt. It's very nice when people reach out like this. I should be thankful.

But seriously, am I the only one who has ever looked at a map of Florida and memorized it? St Augustine is on the Atlantic Ocean side of the state. We still might get a lot of rain and tropical storm force winds, though...But literally no reason at all to evacuate...

Our daughter went to school in Pensacola during Ivan and has since been through many hurricane threats in SW FLA. Our beloved family vacation places on Sanibel and Captiva have been battered by Charlie and Ian. I really hate this time of year...But,, one thing for sure... Florida will respond, bounce back, and be stronger.

IKR? I don't panic when a snowstorm happens in New England.

All clear in North Florida. Just brought the pool furniture inside the garage and picked up anything in the yard that could fly away. I like the frozen water bottle idea!

Just south of Tampa. We’ll get some rain and a tidal surge but we’re sitting around with friends, drinking and eating. We have a whole house generator so we’ve got a houseful for the night and tomorrow. Everybody came loaded with food and drink. Seriously, we could feed and drink several dozen people 3 meals a day for the next 2 weeks with the amount of food everybody brought.

So how is everyone doing?

Very little rain here and only 18 mph wind gusts here. I suppose it could curl to the east and we might see a little more rain and wind, but that seems unlikely now.

All good here. The Key my folks live on is still closed, so we've been fully enjoying family time, talking about wonderful past moments, timepieces, fun side stories about how in the early 1970s my brother as a young child almost 'readjusted' the actual Greenwich England clock at the Maritime Museum...

Hurricanes bring our family closer. ❤️

PS: Oh my, the food... My incredible Muse is going to make a really nice brisket with cute little Yukon Gold potatoes, etc for dinner. If this hurricane lasts any longer, everyone within our home is gonna get fat(!).

Strange question, but do you know John Miglis in St. Augustine?
