Well, I just retired....
The close was September 1st. Sold my Environmental consulting firm and have entered the new reality. Excited, a bit scared and having apprehensive feelings like I haven’t had since the early 80’s. my AD, to their credit, brought me in and offered me a special watch, the rose gold Skydweller on OF (white dial). A beautiful watch and I was grateful, but it is just a bit too complicated for me. I’ll hold out for a Daytona, maybe forever, to complete my collection.
Can’t really properly describe my feelings...happy of the things I’ve accomplished yet somewhat somber knowing my career and the excitement of work is coming to an end. Too all those that came before me and to those still chasing their dream

Still gotta work, too many ex wives and I live in California

Congratulations !
Definitely hold out for the watch you want the most. I semi retired 4 years ago. I worked like crazy for quite some time before I realised it wasn’t my priority. I still have to work because I’d go mad if I didn’t but very glad to be out of the ego Pitt of BS. |

Congratulations on your retirement -- you will love it!! The only thing I miss are my coworkers - my work family.
In life, you hit the "reset button" a few times, so enjoy this journey. You'll figure it out. |

Like those who posted before me, I too am semi-retired.
When I turned 60 last year, I wanted to mark the occasion with a blue dial SS Sky-Dweller but, as many will already know, this watch is very difficult to get. My AD offered me the white dial instead, which I liked almost as much as the blue in photos. Then when I held the actual watch in my hands, I was sold. Congratulations on your retirement and I hope you get the watch you want soon! |

Congrats. Enjoy your retirement. Personally I can’t wait and went into a semi retirement when my career company folded a few years back. Now i just work part time which suits me just fine. Less is more definitely. And good luck with the watch, lets hope it turns up sooner rather than later.

Congratulations, enjoy your retirement!
And don't be scared or apprehensive, you are beginning the best part of life. I retired in my late 30s and have thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and opportunities that life has to offer. Just this year, I celebrated the big "50", and I have only few regrets and the feeling of living a truly fulfilled life today. So don't hesitate. Enjoy this new and exciting chapter in your life.

Congratulations on the journey and best wishes in retirement! I’ll just say that don’t make any plans just yet and just do whatever you feel like every morning when you wake up. Do that for a while and if you get bored, I’m sure you will find ways to keep busy.

Congratulations! I retired in 2003 after a forty year career and have been so busy over the past eighteen years I don't know how I ever found time to go to work.
Enjoy your retirement!
