Nice write up. I have a Z serial from 2007. It was my first Rolex straight from the AD. I love it still to this day.

Review of Rolex Explorer II 16570 "Polar" (my new purchase)
It’s always nice to see another Polar Expl. II fan who rediscovered the allure of the reference.

I just bought a Y 16570 and I have to admit that it’s probably my favourite Rolex so far. I like it even more than my 16710 Pepsi.

Thanks, all.
I'm really enjoying it. Been wearing it regularly. And it's ridiculous how you can get these for 50% of the GMT 16710 prices.

Just ran into this. One of the coolest ads Rolex ever made, imho.

Really enjoyed reading the blog. Great write up, the 16750 is fantastic reference which is becoming increasingly popular.

Got my 16570 polar exp ii in 2011 when the new version was coming out, no comparison IMO, the 16570 wears better, looks better, is better.

New version isn't bad but the dial/color scheme is so much nicer on the old one. Cheers.

Nice work! This reference is super intriguing to me because of the obvious functionality of the 3185 and also because of the lume transitions in the mid to late 90s.

And also the price in the preowned market (compared to Sub and GMT).

My first Rolex! Such a versatile piece. Just wish I could get a modern bracelet on one.

I wonder if the new bracelet fits to these old watches. Maybe not the 216570 though... but the ones for Sub and GMT (I guess they have same lug inside width, huh?)

Great review. Was considering purchasing this one for a while. Can't decide between black dial or polar!

Great review! I am curios to know how it wears compared to the 16700 - which is slightly slimmer but different bezel.

The difference with smooth bezel is actually quite dramatic when you switch to ExpII from Sub or GMT. Cheers.

Nice review, I sometimes miss my Polar Explorer II. However, with my failing eyesight, it was always a bit difficult to read. I replaced it with a black dial 216570. Great legibility with larger dial and wider hands.
