Help! Grand Prix FC Bezel Damage and now Scratched Crystal -- Help Repair Please!
Dearest All,
Attached you can see a pic of my Grand Prix with a nicked up bezel and now a scratch on the glass. I have since been quoted 3K to fix both. Anyone have any good experience with this issue? I am in NYC and looking to either repair, replace with Ceramic bezel, or sell or trade for PP5980. I searched previous forum messages about others who replaced bezel/glass but didn't really find anything. If someone/anyone would please direct and help me, I would GREATLY appreciate! Thanks, Andrew |

I don't think that AP will fit a ceramic bezel as it never came on that watch. However, you can always ask. Trading for another watch in a damaged state is going to hurt your trade value substantially. On the flip side, a Patek that need a new bezel and a crystal would set you back much more than that.

I wouldn't swap that watch for a 5980 even though yours isn't in great condition. I thought AP would put a ceramic bezel on this watch because there have been issues with the longevity of the carbon bezel. If you struggle getting a ceramic bezel in NY I don't mind if you PM me for the contact details of the person at AP uk who confirmed the bezel swap on the GP.

I'd bite the bullet and get the repairs done by AP. While it's there,
Have all warranty work completed for a new set of papers if you can. How'd the watch get damaged? |

I will sent in to AP and have both replace. I will want the original FC bezel replaced to match the pushers, unless AP can replace both bezel & pushers to ceramic.
PS : I can't see any damage on your bezel. |

Yeah I agree with Sam.. Ceramic bezel will look out of place with the FC pusher casing.

why not drop by the boutique for at least a response if they can make the requested changes, or if it can only be fixed to exact original specs?
