Icon6 Vintage Rolex Sound

Anyone ever notice a difference in sound with vintage Rolex models and newer ones? Sometimes I feel like mine makes so much noise it's distracting.

The sound of what? The bracelet rattle? No, nobody has ever noticed that before.

The sound of the movement in motion, it's a beautiful sound.

Haha by the sound of the movement in motion i'm just talking about the ticking. I am able to hear it from a pretty good distance.

I've been wearing vintage for a couple decades now and never once noticed any movement sounds while wearing one of my watches. Maybe my hearing is gone!

I have one 1601 with a noisy rotor. It's been checked by three different watchmakers: no issues, it just has a noisy rotor. I sometimes notice it when I'm wearing it. As for ticking, that ship sailed long ago, can barely hear it with ear pressed to the plastic. Hyper-acute hearing can be a symptom of a medical condition - not diagnosing, just saying.

You guys should really each get an old bubble back with a 620-630 calibre...

The whiz...of the rotor is sublime...at least it was when I could still hear it.

My ears are still pretty good considering I've been in the rock and roll business since I was 9...but I had one I thought was really quiet and guys could hear it across the room in the watch shop lol

LoL I've heard it's hard to sleep with an oyster quartz on the bedstand, yet another 1st world problem I'll never have. :)

I only hear it when I put my wrist next to my head or if by chance I'm closer to it....it's a great calming sound for sure.

If you sleep with your Rolex you can hear it through your pillow.

Here's an interesting post about the Rolex sound: LINK

It would be interesting to hear the difference between a vintage and a modern.

Awesome link! Someone needs to compare them side-by-side stat.
