What makes you think the hands have been changed?

The GMT hand is still the small arrow head original - these are usually a sign its been through RSC when they're changed to the large arrow head version.

If the GMT hands original, no reason to think the hour & minute hands aren't either - the lume age looks quite consistent across all 4 hands imo

I am just starting my research on this. It needs to be cleaned up.

Yes, my relative learnt to fly in 1912 (aviator's certificate no 332). Got an MC & bar in WWI. Learnt to fly again in 1950s, he probably used the watch then.

Just awesome...being an early pilot would be an amazing yet terrifying experience for sure...your late uncles story and of course 6542 are absolutely amazing no doubt....thanks for sharing
