I found this interesting - over polished?
Bob's had this pic on Instagram. You can really see the spring bars sticking out beyond the lugs.

I'm amazed polishing can remove so much metal. I thiught maybe the spring bar
was too big but after a second look the lugs do appear a bit slimmer.

Think you answered your own question here...thin looking lugs..no matter how loose the spring bars are.

It iS old. I don't think it looks terrible. Folks are just used to subCs me thinks.

Have to agree and most probably does not have the correct spring-bars fitted hence a tiny bit longer nothing more.

Those lugs are not excessively polished....its the incorrect springbars that make it look wrong

Do they polish watches on a high speed wheel with aggressive compounds? I guess I'm curious why so much metal is removed when polishing a watch. In the car world, custom wheels are polished countless times with no ill effects so I'm trying to put things into perspective. For what it's worth, wheels are usually done by hand but they can be done on a high speed wheel if they're really bad.
