Sent my 1675 to LAWW and bracelet to Michael Young today

So today I sent my 1973 1675 GMT only 1 day after purchasing it to LAWW for a case refinish and they are also going to put the original hands back on the watch (aftermarket on now because original hands were removed during a service) and they are also going to do a bezel swap for me. The current bezel is the first picture and the second picture is the swap. I like the second one more :). i also sent the bracelet off to Michael young for a restoration (the current bracelet on watch is aftermarket). When all is said and done I think it will be a beautiful watch!!! I will post before and after pics when it gets back if you like

I ended up getting the watch for $8000 US from a friend complete with original bracelet, 3 inserts, original hands & dial, and warranty papers + box. It may cost me $1000 or so to get LAWW and Michael Young to make it look amazing but I am willing to pay that price and wait a couple of months

Josh

That is going to be absolutely killer once LAWW and MY get finished with it!! You'll have a beautiful watch that you'll be very happy to wear. Do you have any pics of the original hands by any chance?

I did the same with mine. RSC here and MY Hong Kong. Looking forward to seeing both. My bracelet was particularly weak at the ends, but the watch just needed service and light polish.

Great moves all around. Warning: Don't let MY polish your bracelet! His shop is very good at tightening/restoring links, but they ruined one of my bracelets with overly aggressive polishing that all but removed the crown on the clasp. Sigh.

Awesome, looking forward to the after pics!

What does the 3rd insert look like? You could vend it here and offset the LAWW/MY work...

The third insert is a basic service insert for a 1675 in new condition. The owner picked it up incase he ever wanted that new look. No real value to that one :).

I'll email MY again and make sure it's only a light polish after hearing the above story.

Cool, thanks. Its a great one, congrats!!!!

I wouldn't even polish it. Why do you want to? Its vintage: patina, insert fade, a used and not abused case like the this is consistent with the rest of the piece. Taking care of stretch is always a solid move but beyond that only a service when necessary is all that is needed imho.

i have used both for each service. MY is great....you just have to manage him as they get busy. Beau at LAWW did my 5513 and i was amazed at the results....epic case refinish. I was really happy....beyond belief....it was not cheap but worth it.

On the other hand I have had 10 bracelets done by MY and none were too heavily polished.

Nice! I just boxed up and labeled my 9315 to send it off to MY. Not too bad of a wait.

looks great! how about posting a picture of the back side of the bracelet?

That is where all the work is done and would like to see how it was preserved.
