Very nice car. The E60 M5 with that glorious V10 is still my favorite M5, though.

and that 3.2 is BMW claimed? Cause usually, at least in the past, cars were faster than what BMW claimed

That $140k price point is insane for an M5 if BMW doesn’t adjust the price down for the US market. As is right now the E63 S AMG is nearly $35k cheaper when converting Euro pricing to US MSRP.

BMW makes too many of these M cars, prices will fall, an LCI/Comp model will come out in 2 years, and 2 years later you are wondering why you didn't spring for the Porsche.

Lost manual option?
Added torque converter (no more DCT)?

How are these changes being viewed by the BMW customer base?

I think you’re doing the conversion wrong. €1 is about $1.18 right now.

The new ZF 8 Speed is actually fantastic. Have it in my Alfa Quadrifoglio. Definite upgrade over the DCT that I had in my prior F80 M3. Clearly, BMW came to the same conclusion after lots of DCT daily drivability complaints with the last M5. Plus...the ZF has a higher Torque threshold when start upping the horsepower on imminent special edition packages (ZCP, etc.).

Love that car. Simply a work of art. Switching from rear wheel to all wheel is incredible.

But at that price point I’m taking the MB equivalent, no questions asked. Even if it’s not quite the car that the BMW is.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I’ll not be able to afford either. So it’s not a decision I’ll soon have to make.

Kudos tho to the engineers at BMW for making the M5 stand out again.

Great looking car with some cutting edge drive train tech. First I’ve heard of the AWD to RWD innovation. Sounds very interesting. About time they did an AWD M sedan.

I have the F10 M5. It will make sense with 4WD. I also have an X5M, and it certainly grips.
