Christmas gift for wife...

Looking for opinions on Cartier vs. Tiffany etc. for the wife. What’s hot? She hinted about a Chanel necklace seems crazy to drop big money on costume jewelry

The markups are pretty highf or both Cartier and Tiffany. Do you have a local guy that can make you a custom piece for the missus?

What kind of range price wise are you looking to spend? Many designer pieces command thousands of dollars and are completely worth it to the woman who wants the piece. If she wants a special piece and you can afford it, get her what she wants.

Some diamond Tiffany bracelet can exceed platona territory. But I found the craftsmanship quite good.

fmacken - I agree with Abdullah ^^^. Then your gift becomes an heirloom handed down for family. Been the route you mentioned, but in reality, sentiment and the creativity that goes into a unique custom design is resplendent with Love.

Merry Christmas!
Blessings,
DM

Jewlery has to be the biggest pyramid scheme going! Get her a Patek Twenty-4, it has one of the best names in horology plus diamonds, done!

A lot of high end jewelers will have estate pieces from all the high end brands at deep discounts. That has been our go to for Tiffany, Cartier, vca, etc

You are absolutely right, but there's peace of mind when you buy from either one of these brands.

Yup, I was in the doghouse before she even came home.

ckaynyc ~ Well, sir.... were you in there (the doghouse) with the dog?
Or do you have a special doghouse for matrimonial moments like this?

Blessings,
DM

That’s the way to do it. My wife loves Tiffany and starts smiling as soon as she sees the light blue bag. I will gladly overpay to see her happy.

I try to set the bar low by not meeting my spouse's expectations. This is a multi-pronged strategy, but a core technique is pretending not to pick up on costly "hints"

Cartier is my wife's go too. Can't go wrong, needless to say I've spent my fair share there Over the years.

Christmas gift for wife...

I’m not going to lie I purchased both but as much as I hate to say it buying a Tiffany diamond is not like buying a Rolex or a Patek. a diamond is a diamond. If you look around for some good diamond dealers they can get you diamonds just is high-quality if not better for fractions of the price if you really need a Tiffany’s box they sell them on eBay for pretty damn cheap. I am however a fan of the Tiffany and Cartier bracelets because I do believe there’s true craftsmanship in those.

x2 true on the quoted below.
I got her a diamond ring for our wedding, a diamond omega, and that's it. We're newly wed (1 year) but I'm definitely not buying anymore diamonds. Read about it, their prices are inflated.
