One was a fake Tudor Sub from a "local" jeweler (they're located about 50 miles from me). I received the watch through the mail and immediately knew it was a fake. I contacted the seller and they claimed they didn't know and would refund my money. It took a while, but I did get my money back. Second was a fully documented DRSD from Germany. Before I received the watch, I thought the dial looked off. I posted some pics on TRF and many confirmed the dial was fake. I contacted the seller and he said that I should just refuse delivery so it gets sent right back. I wanted to see the watch for myself, so I did receive it and confirmed that it was a fake dial. I paid through Paypal. The seller contacted me right after I won the bidding and asked that I pay direct. I said I didn't know them and couldn't take the chance of paying directly as I wouldn't be covered. Boy am I glad I did! They came up with some lame excuse that they couldn't refund my money because their account was limited to only $25K (I paid $40K for the watch!). They then said that I should let it go the three days and open an official complaint so they can get me my money back. I did and within a few days later, I had my money refunded in full. My seller didn't ghost me at least. Bottom line: If you paid with Paypal, you're covered no matter what. |

Funny! I noticed that too.. He's feeling confident now that he got one person so now he can find another one. Never understood people trying to save a couple bucks rather than use common sense and use a reputable AD or gray. I have a hard time feeling bad when people get taken anymore especially when there are many high volume gray dealers on here and elsewhere that are reputable. Sure they charge more but a few bucks to sleep at night seems well worth it. The greed factor always takes over in human beings.

It is possible for a scrambled serial number to start with F, but it would be followed by seven more numbers/letters (for a total of 8). An F followed by six more numbers (total of 7) would be a 2003 watch which this clearly is not. That is one sure sign it is fake......besides all the other hints of this being fake!

Just got my money back from eBay. They made me wait a few days to hear back from him and then another few days for him to send a return label. He never responded or sent the label so they just refunded the full amount with shipping.
So..... anyone want to buy a watch? ;) |
