Watch out for Craig Richardson...SCAMMER

I posted a WTB add on this forum and days later Craig Richardson contacted my business email mentioning he had the part, plus some. He sent numerus photos of each part and requested that I pay him through Venmo. After a week of excuses and then giving me a fake tracking number, the parts never arrived.

I have learned my lesson to never use Venmo when buying from a untrusted seller, but was able to file a dispute with my bank.

Here is his email - richardsoncraig42@aol.com

Yes, very sorry, that was a real punk move. I've also heard buyer bewares before from using Venmo as well.

First off P, sorry to hear that. Second, I thought Venmo was owned by PayPal and had basically the same rules, meaning “sender” could dispute a charge? Or, if you pay on Venmo using your CC, you can do a chargeback?

“Sender” being money sender, since it’s made as a platform for friends and family to pay each other.

Yes I haven’t heard of someone being able to reverse a Venmo charge.

Sorry to hear about that. I posted a wtb once and got a suspicious message. Seems like they browse the wtb posts frequently

I appreciate it everyone and just can't fathom doing the same thing to anyone.

I received an update from my bank and they sided with Venmo saying that "I agreed to the terms" whatever that means....

I always thought Venmo was a part of PayPal and thought it would be okay to use...

I guess there is always "those people" out there and we need to watch our backs.

I'm sorry to hear that buddy.

I know PayPal has a "family and friends" payment category and then a "business" category. The later allows you to get a refund if you were not satisfied with the business.
That would have been a better option.
