So, I just got mine from an AD in Orlando and my buddy was at a big jewelry store in KC and they had one there too. Still a couple out there at retail for those willing to hunt.

This watch is worth more than 3.4 for sure. I like mine as much as more pricey watches I own.

how are people liking the sla017 after the honeymoon period? any issues or quirks? was debating flipping my Cameron since it's too thick for my dainty wrists.

I had one that I pre-ordered and sold it because I thought I would like the subc more. Turns out I liked the subc much more but couldn't justify the expense/abuse for a daily beater. I subsequently sold the subc and my second sla is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

I'm excited for the second honeymoon to begin! In all honestly, the watch head is one of my favorites of all time. I love the domed crystal, lack of crown guards w/a large crown, and the gray dial. I do feel the bracelet is of somewhat poor quality in terms of endlink fitment, but the links themselves are adequate for me (not hollow so no future stretch). The endlinks could have been designed this way to give it a vintage feel and style. The clasp isn't my favorite either (but nothing on the planet compares to a glidelock), so I just throw an sbdx001 clasp on it and call it a day. If this watch had a GS quality bracelet it would have had an msrp of over 5k, I would assume.

I've had mine pretty much since they were released, and I still love it. The quality is on par with Omega, I would say. The size is perfect for my girlie little 6.5" wrist, too.

One of my favorite things about the watch is the way the beautiful grey sunburst dial looks next to the deep black bezel insert. And the case finishing is immaculate, the mirror-like polish on the case flanks reminds me of Grand Seiko.

Fantastic watch.

I just ordered a 19mm tropic strap from Uncle Seiko and I'll update with some pics when that comes in. It looks great from others that I've seen.

I have the uncle seiko and a true vintage tropic. The difference isn’t even close! If I were you I’d try to score a true vintage tropic because it is so much more pliable and feels so much more comfortable.

Not the most accurate in my current rotation (see sig.). Other than that...
...it's freaking awesome.

Ask me in a few years if you want. I bet you'll get the same answer...

Yannis,

Sorry I didn’t see this until today. Below are some pics. I have seen them on the bay or chrono24. Since they are vintage nos the price can vary from 100-250.

Hope the pics help! If need any others please let me know.

So it took me a minute. Think I had some guilt with the purchase as it was my fourth purchase since October and wifey not too happy. Thought about flipping it but just bit the bullet and took off the back sticker. Once I did that and committed to it really fell in love. I believe the word is....chuffed?

I've just tried on a new one at a Seiko AD, it's beautiful and I really like it, they want $3400 out of the door (tax included), is it a good deal? The only thing is if I buy it, most likely it will spend its life unworn in the safe since I have plenty of other watches already. Thanks!

Price is fine imho. Not sure how good it will do as a "pure" investment, though. A shame not to wear it...

...speaking of which...

Looks great on your wrist! I offered them $3K out of the door even, let's see. Thanks.
