Double Edged Realization about Pam 372

I came to the realization yesterday after trying on the PAM 422 multiple times that the 47mm is just too big and clunky. As much as I wanted to love it on my wrist I just couldn't.

On the other hand, I believe it has solidified my want for a Big Pilot Le Petit Prince. Although very large as well, it does not wear anywhere as big as the 422. Now I just have to figure out how to raise and justify the funds for the price differential.

Which brings me to a question I have not seen answered on the forums in a while, based on my recent searches. What kind of discount can I hope for/expect on a Big Pilot that retails for $12,900. I have read up to 25% or even 30% as a general rule of thumb on some luxury watches. Hoping this pertains to IWC BP as well.

Any advice is appreciated.

Having owned the 372 and other 47mm PAMs and also a Big Pilot I agree, the Pilot wears significantly better on smaller wrists. It's the right choice it seems for you.

Not sure about discount at AD but I wouldn't touch it for less than 30% off. You can pick up a used BP for $6-7k. I sold mine, which was well worn, about 18 months ago for $6.5k if I remember correctly. Sold to a dealer who would have obviously marked it up a little to sell on.

I appreciate the reply.

Although I’m probably not ready to pull the trigger just yet it seems like most used BPs on this forum are going for 9k. Maybe there is a premium this time of year.

I see one on another forum (2105 watch) for $6.9k ask. That seems about right. Unless IWC have taken a note from Patek, AP, and Rolex and pulled production on the BP then $9k is close to where you should be with an new one from a dealer.

I appreciate the feedback. That gives me a good benchmark.
