While many will think they look similar, the look and feel of these pieces are different. If collectors can have 8 Submariners with different dial fonts or bezels, then you can have 2 completely different watches.

If that's what you like, knock yourself out. I haven't heard too many people calling Trace nuts for owning a dozen Daytonas and I see no problem here either

I don't think so, unless one buys two identical watches. It can apply to anything not just watches

They are both really nice. The Day Date can be used for those special occasions and the Datejust could be used as a daily beater! So definately no loss owning both ;)

Not at all. In my case the DJ would be a stainless and the DD yellow gold. There can only be one master in the watchbox!

Yes, it is. The cost of the second watch isn't just the money it takes by buying it, but the other watches you could buy for that sum.

Rather than buying two nigh-identical watches, if you don't want to be a one-watch person, buy something to diversify what you have.
