I don't get the complaints that its expensive for "a watch with a rubber strap"

Like the Daytona's on oysterflex its significantly less expensive than those with a gold bracelet. And you get the matching gold deployant clasp too.

It is nice watch but I agree with Paul. If had to drop penny on RG I would go for PAM 684.
If we talk about WG then it is a different story.

My Friend had his on a Rose Gold band ,it blows your mind to see the difference, it looked incredible .
