Batgirl

EDIT: Just to say that nicknames can be a curse. If you're wanting it to be called anything else you'll be waiting a long time...

I dislike the nickname “BatGIRL”, also dislike the SISSY who came up with this absurd nickname.

I sometimes wonder what this forum is coming too,now its nothing more than very childish names for what was once a prestigious brand of mechanical watches.

Just a bit of fun. I am impartial (no plan to buy) but I have to say to my eyes it just doesn't go on a jubilee. I saw the BLNR, saw the BLRO - neither looks right on that bracelet to me. I would much sooner get the CHNR than either pepsi or the bat***...*

No, not really

It is old and tired and people are now just doing it for spite.

It seems like Batgirl stuck to the new Blnr right away, like it or not. I usually use the model letters, the reference numbers don't always pop out of my head. but we all know the easy nicknames, ADs even use them. I can take it or leave it. I'm certainly not going to get in a huff about it all.

Victim of its own success. Rolex transcended the 'tool' market long ago, insofar as the word pertaining strictly to watches. The current climate is obnoxious but Rolex seems to be catering to the lowest common denominator rather than the enthusiast who values brand heritage...the proof is in their use of these nicknames to identify watches on their own website.

I don't understand . . . If I vote Like does that mean I prefer the name "126710BLNR" for the 126710BLNR?

Even Rolex recognizes the nicknames, now.

Anyway, not thrilled that they don't let us choose oyster vs jubilee.

I think the OP's intentions are pretty clear:

I think the reason that this silly nickname has stuck is because owners of the 116710BLNR like the idea of feminizing the 126710BLNR because it makes theirs seem more desirable. And anyone who can't get one likes the idea of making it sound silly or feminine because they are jealous.

I don't own either reference but I think it looks great with both bracelets.

Sorry, but the question is awkwardly worded. Wouldn't trust any data from this poll.

At first glance, it reads like you are asking if they like the watch or if they like the jubilee version versus the oyster. Just not worded ideally.

Stupid nickname IMO. In fact I think "Batman" is already ridiculous, but "Batgirl" because it's on Jubilee just dials it up another level of ridiculous. I've noticed it mostly being used in a pejorative/negative way too.
