Yes...these "bent crown" aftermarket dials on vintage Subs may be all the rage in 10 years :) Hard to even find a replacement dial that "inaccurate" nowadays. It may not be a genuine Rolex dial, but you gotta admit...it's probably pretty rare. BTW...dad said he had the dial replaced because it looked "burnt". Have you ever seen something like that on a Submariner?

I don't wish to cause further upset, but why the implied negativity to a person's nationality?

"I'm not a Nigerian . . . "

Surely that's not acceptable here?

Not intended as any comment other than the term used for the "Nigerian" scams. The comment was letting people know that I'm not some clown sitting at a computer in Nigeria emailing people to scam them. If you haven't heard. The majority of thiefs commiting the financial crimes are known as that. Don't get upset with me for that, and don't try to make an issue out of nothing. Not appreciated!

Whoa, slow down a bit. I'm not trying to make something out of nothing, and I hadn't heard anything of which you referred. Regardless, it should've been enough to assert you're not a scammer. I've not said anything to offend anyone.

I think he represented it better on his second attempt to sell it! And I do know, most folks buying these vintage 5508's do know a refinished dial from an original. It's still a credit to him to more accurately describe it!
