PP 3940p locate?

Does anyone know where I can find a later-series 3940p for sale? I know it's a tall order....but preferably unworn? Much appreciated.

The 3940p is a terrific watch and probably my favorite Patek. If there's one watch that is both emblematic of all that Patek does well, and has a style that transcends time and fashion, the 3940 is about as close as it gets.

Some will counter that it's too small at 36mm but I believe it's perfectly proportioned. There are no small Pateks, only small minds.

I don't know of one for sale, but here's a photo to wet your appetite ...

Also keep in mind that the 3940p is the only version that comes only with a solid caseback, if that's an issue. The rest have interchangeable solid and display backs.

If it's a major factor, consider the white gold version. Should be easier to find and less expensive.

Then again, a platinum Patek is undeniably something truly special and consider how much time you will actually spend looking at the back of your watch.

Good luck with your search.

Definitely something to consider...if you need a transparent case back, look for a 3940g

I have seen a few 3940P for sale in the last 6 months. They sell within a few days.
Keep looking and be ready when you fine the right one. Good luck. One of the best watches ever made.

In familiarizing myself with this beautiful watch, I was surprised that the back of a 3940g was not as interesting as I expected from such a complicated piece. Maybe a platinum caseback isn't such a big issue.

Not a P but a dial that is not as common as some of the others: https://thekeystone.com/collections/...watch-ref-3940
